Insomnia is my first album, recorded in an empty café during the Christmas holidays. I had a great time layering voices and instruments, in a resonant room with a grand piano. Each track has a corresponding drawing that you can find further down. It was a time of spiritual wonders and difficult heartbreaks, giving this first take a deeply nostalgic feel. It marks my life's introduction to the numinous, far from the rigid programs of my youth, and its theme is the night: boundless universes, stellar openings, swirling galaxies. The cosmic lover-boy that I was, represented by my Nebulon character on the cover, was still up there at the time, not quite incarnated, not knowing he was about to perilously crash on a wild and colourful planet.
